At Caldecote our bespoke Character Education curriculum is a diverse range of opportunities, responsibilities and experiences that all children will take part in starting with “5 by the age of 5” in Reception through to “11 by 11” in Year 6.

The content of this was chosen based on experiences that we believe our children should have each year and throughout their primary school life. These include making use of our wonderful local area and further afield. Careful thought went into the planning and progression of this to ensure that children have a wide range of opportunities and build on prior learning year on year. We have linked this to our diverse community and what this has to offer and the topics we cover. Examples include watching something grow, going on a treasure hunt, meeting someone from their community and climbing a tree.

We are extremely proud of our Character Education and feel that it is an integral part of what makes our school unique. The learning is alongside our academic curriculum and actively promotes many skills as well as supporting our 5* qualities of: Respect, Readiness, Hardworking, Resilience, Kindness.
